Sleep affects every aspect of our lives!

Find past stories on our website: shareyoursleepstory.ca/

The mission of Share Your Sleep Story is to connect the data with the voices of individuals facing sleep challenges due to their profession, life-altering events, social and environmental circumstances, or sleep disorders. Through candid conversations, the initiative aims to listen, understand, and amplify the need for change for individuals facing sleep challenges.

We hope these stories will raise awareness, destigmatize sleep disorders and diverse sleep needs, foster compassion, and inspire decision-makers to prioritize sleep as a fundamental pillar of public health.

FINGERPRINT has been selected as a Finalist in the $1M Alzheimer’s Insights AI Prize by Alzheimer's Disease Data Initiative!

This global competition recognizes groundbreaking agentic AI solutions in

Alzheimer’s disease, and we’re honored to be among the teams advancing to the final stage at AD/PD - Advances in Science & Therapy.

FINGERPRINT is our agentic AI engine designed to bridge one of the biggest gaps in Alzheimer’s research: linking molecular discovery directly to clinical prevention outcomes.

The latest editorial in The Lancet Neurology paints a vivid picture of AI’s promise in neurology, from stroke recovery prediction (e.g., TRUSTroke) to digitized memory clinics for dementia care. Why aren’t these tools reaching the patients who need them most?

In Correspondence this month, I argue that the biggest challenge is no longer algorithmic bias, it’s 'deployment bias'. When validated AI tools remain stuck in research silos, they tend to benefit only the most well-resourced systems, widening existing inequities.

On Saturday, October 11th at 4:00 PM (ET), Dr. Noriega will join Kelly Alexander on CJAD 800 Montreal’s “Ask the Experts” to take a deep dive into the 14 modifiable risk factors of dementia and what we can all do to protect brain health across the lifespan.

This conversation is hosted in collaboration with Hope for Dementia, an organization doing remarkable work to raise awareness, promote early detection, and support prevention programs. Their mission reminds us that protecting brain health is both a personal and collective responsibility.

Tune in live on CJAD 800 Montreal or listen later to discover how small, evidence-based changes can make a significant difference for lifelong cognitive health and well-being.

Healthy aging is the defining health challenge of our time, and one of our greatest opportunities for innovation.

In just over a century, humanity has gained decades of life expectancy. Yet, without extending healthspan — the years we live in good health — these extra years risk becoming a burden for individuals, families, and societies worldwide.

As we move through this UN Decade of Healthy Ageing (2021–2030), we have a unique window to build the science, infrastructure, and policies that will help people live not just longer, but healthier lives.

This October, I’ll be joining the NEXii Longevity Congress 2025, Porto to explore and discuss how we can translate innovation into real-world impact and create systems that support healthy aging and brain health for all.

Date: Oct 8-9, Porto, Portugal

In this piece in Brain, “The Duality of Alzheimer’s Disease”, we explore the ancient Greek concepts of nosos (biological disease) and asthenia (lived symptoms) to frame a modern debate: should Alzheimer’s be defined by its molecular pathology or its clinical manifestations?

With advances in biomarkers enabling diagnosis decades before symptoms, the authors advocate for a hybrid model integrating biological precision with patient-centred care, anchoring Alzheimer’s in its pathology while respecting the realities of cognitive decline.

Precision Prevention in Dementia Demands Biological Precision.

In Science, I commented on Eric Topol, MD’s powerful overview of the field on “Predicting and preventing Alzheimer’s disease.”

To truly prevent Alzheimer’s disease and the broader spectrum of dementias, we must confront that most dementia is not “pure” AD. Postmortem studies demonstrate that mixed pathology is the rule, not the exception. If we want Precision-Prevention, we need predictive tools and trials that reflect the full biological complexity of the aging brain.

PROMIND - "Proteomic BIOSignatures for Multidomain INterventions in Dementia" - aims to identify biomarker profiles that predict individual response to lifestyle-based interventions

This funding is made possible thanks to the Aging Brain Initiative donors at The Picower Institute for Learning and Memory (MIT School of Science). Thanks to them, we are accelerating global efforts in precision prevention for Alzheimer’s disease.

Why it matters?

Identifying molecular predictors of intervention response enables more personalized strategies for preserving brain health.
